Good Morning Everybody. Except You.

Most of my blogs focus on providing information about topics that I hope will be helpful to others. Today feels a little different.

This isn't a psychoeducation piece or a guide on coping strategies. It's simply a moment of reflection on an emotion that seems to be showing up not only for me, but for many women around me.

Anger.

There has been so much to be angry about lately.

The social injustices that continue to minimise women's voices and experiences.

Women's needs being dismissed or overlooked.

The all-too-familiar narratives that shift blame onto victims while extending empathy to those who have caused harm.

The everyday microaggressions in workplaces. The lack of transparency. The emotional labour of navigating systems that weren't designed with equity in mind.

Women's health continuing to be underfunded, misunderstood, and neglected, leaving many to advocate tirelessly for themselves just to receive appropriate care.

The pain of neglect within relationships. Feeling unseen, unheard, or carrying more than your fair share.

And countless other moments that accumulate quietly over time.

Perhaps there isn't a lesson in today's blog.

Maybe today is simply about acknowledging that anger often exists for a reason. It can be a protective emotion. One that guards the sadness, grief, disappointment, or helplessness that sits beneath it.

Rather than judging our anger or trying to push it away, perhaps we can become curious about it.

What is this anger trying to protect?

What does it need from me right now?

For me, the answer is to slow down. To reconnect with my values and remember my why. To channel that anger into something meaningful rather than letting it consume me.

And perhaps, if I'm being completely honest...

Yoga and pizza tonight.

I hope, whatever your anger is trying to tell you, you're able to meet it with kindness and curiosity instead of criticism, and that you find your own version of self-care today.

I'm rooting for you.
