Psychological Support & EMDR Therapy

I provide psychological care for adults across Wheelers Hill and surrounding areas, helping people manage trauma, anxiety, stress, and related mental health challenges.

I also offer clinical supervision for psychologists and provisional psychologists completing their internship, and other mental health practitioners.

Individual Therapy

It is common to feel a little uncertain during your first session. I offer a 10–15 minute phone consultation to introduce myself, answer any questions, and ensure my approach is a good fit for your needs. If you choose to proceed, we will schedule your initial appointment, and you will receive a consent form and service agreement to complete beforehand.

During the first session, we will work together to clarify your therapeutic goals. These goals guide our work as we focus on improving your mental health, emotional wellbeing, and resilience. Each session is designed to support you in managing distress, building coping skills, and creating meaningful change in your life.

My approach is collaborative and personalised, integrating EMDR therapy and other evidence-informed strategies to support clients in navigating difficult experiences, improving emotional regulation, and fostering long-term resilience.

If you’re seeking psychological support in-person (Wheelers Hill) or via telehealth, contact me to explore how we can work together.

Clinical Supervision

I am a Board Approved Supervisor, accredited to supervise 4+2 or 5+1 provisional psychologists completing their internship, either as a primary or secondary supervisor. I provide integrative, strength-based supervision to help psychologists build confidence in case conceptualisation, therapeutic interventions, and professional development.

My supervision is grounded in ethical practice and reflective discussion. Whether you are a provisional psychologist completing your internship or a fully registered psychologist seeking ongoing supervision, I offer a supportive space to explore:

  • Case conceptualisation and treatment planning
  • Ethical challenges in practice
  • Working with clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, stress, or complex mental health concerns
  • Professional growth and reflective practice

A casual consultation is a comfortable first step to see if our working styles align and to discuss your supervision goals.

For provisional/registered psychologists and other mental health professionals interested in clinical supervision, get in touch to arrange a casual consultation and discuss your professional development goals.

Anxiety, Panic Attacks & Phobias

Anxiety is a deeply human emotion that protects us by alerting us to potential threats. However, when the mind shifts into overdrive, it can begin to interpret non-dangerous situations as though they were life-threatening.

In our work together, we will explore the factors that contribute to your experience of anxiety, including the emotional and physical responses that can feel overwhelming. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, including EMDR where appropriate, we will work to process underlying experiences that may be driving your anxiety, not just manage symptoms.

If you’re seeking support for anxiety, the goal is to help you feel more in control and navigate anxious moments with greater ease and confidence.

Depression & Mood Disorder Therapy

Depression is part of a broader group of conditions called mood disorders, which can significantly affect emotional balance and overall wellbeing. Mood disorders can involve intense lows (depressive episodes) and, in some cases like bipolar disorder, periods of elevated mood or energy (mania or hypomania). Depression itself is marked by persistent sadness, low motivation, and a sense of heaviness or hopelessness.

Common depressive conditions, including Major Depressive Disorder and Persistent Depressive Disorder, may appear as:

  • Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed
  • Low energy and fatigue
  • Changes in sleep or appetite
  • Emotional numbness or a sense of hopelessness

Research consistently shows that personalised care, combining psychotherapy, medication, and lifestyle strategies, can support long-term recovery.

In our work together, we explore persistent patterns of self-criticism and negative self-beliefs that may be maintaining these symptoms. The goal is to help you shift these patterns and develop a more balanced, compassionate view of yourself, others, and the world.

EMDR & Trauma-Informed Therapy

Complex trauma, sometimes called developmental trauma, arises from ongoing, repeated experiences that overwhelm one’s sense of safety. It often occurs during early years and can deeply shape how someone understands themselves, relates to others, and navigates the world. Unlike single-event trauma, complex trauma has a cumulative impact that touches the core of one’s identity.

People experiencing complex trauma may face challenges such as:

  • Difficulty regulating emotions or managing stress
  • A distorted or uncertain sense of self
  • Challenges in relationships or setting boundaries
  • Persistent patterns of behaviour that feel hard to change
  • Physical symptoms without a clear medical cause

These responses often develop as adaptive strategies to cope with chronically overwhelming experiences.

Trauma-informed therapy provides a compassionate space to understand these patterns. Through evidence-based approaches, including EMDR therapy, it is possible to unlearn old patterns, reconnect with your inner sense of safety, and build a grounded, fulfilling life that reflects your authentic self.

Grief & Loss Counselling

Grief and loss are universal experiences that can affect emotional, physical, and social wellbeing. Whether the loss is sudden or gradual, the emotional impact can feel overwhelming.

Common experiences include:

  • Intense sadness or emptiness
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Changes in sleep, appetite, or energy
  • Feelings of guilt, anger, or regret

Supportive therapy can provide a safe space to process grief, navigate life transitions, and gradually restore balance and meaning.

Caregiver & Animal Care Professional Support

Caring for others, whether people or animals, can be deeply rewarding but also emotionally exhausting. Burnout and compassion fatigue are common among caregivers and animal care professionals.

Therapy focuses on:

  • Managing stress and emotional overload
  • Preventing burnout and supporting self-care
  • Processing grief or secondary trauma
  • Maintaining healthy boundaries and wellbeing

Through personalised support, caregivers can restore balance, strengthen resilience, and continue providing care without sacrificing their own mental health.

People Affected by Family Violence

Experiencing family or domestic violence can have lasting emotional, psychological, and physical effects. Healing often requires a trauma-informed, safe, and validating approach.

Support focuses on:

  • Rebuilding safety and trust
  • Managing trauma-related stress and anxiety
  • Understanding and processing the impact of abuse
  • Strengthening self-esteem and autonomy

Therapy can empower survivors to reclaim control, develop healthy coping strategies, and work towards a life free from fear.

Neurodivergent Mental Health Support

Neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, or other cognitive differences, may experience challenges with emotional regulation, social relationships, and daily functioning.

Support can help with:

  • Stress, anxiety, or depression
  • Navigating social situations and relationships
  • Building routines and coping strategies
  • Understanding strengths and self-advocacy

Therapy provides tailored, strengths-based support that respects neurodivergent perspectives and promotes mental health and resilience.

Women's Mental Health & Wellbeing

Women may face unique mental health challenges influenced by historical, biological, social, and cultural factors. These can include perinatal mood disorders, hormonal changes, relationship stress, or trauma.

Therapy can support women with:

  • Depression, anxiety, or mood fluctuations
  • Life transitions and identity changes
  • Trauma recovery or relational difficulties
  • Self-care and wellbeing strategies

Evidence-based therapy offers a safe, compassionate space to explore these experiences and strengthen overall wellbeing.
