Your Therapist's Christmas Wish

Published on 23 December 2025 at 19:54

Holding my clients in my mind this Christmas.

Whether it’s the timeless story of unworthiness that arises at a family lunch they reluctantly attend, or blurring the once firm boundaries under pressure, or the anxiety around the financial burden of not having, or even being enough for their parents, partners and children, or holding the guilt of inevitably passing on the intergenerational trauma response, or reliving years of playing the role of the bullied scapegoat.

Whatever it may be, my Christmas wish is that they hold their boundaries firmly by staying grounded, even when shaky, that they recall the worth they felt, even if only for a moment in our sessions, that they remember the feeling of nurturing, protection, and guidance  that they deserve, and that they anchor themselves in being enough.

Above all, my wish is that they hold their inner child so gently that they hear themselves say, “You, my darling, are worth all the kindness in the world.”

Happy Christmas 🎄 Bring on 2026.
